Yaaaaaay! It’s Friday! Sadly I’m working this weekend so I can’t indulge too heavily but I shall still be enjoying a cocktail and posting the results here!
This week I have been mostly looking into how to make a Grasshopper (no not the insect!) and nearly hit a roadblock: my local supermarket does not sell creme de cacao! Slight problem there. Luckily we have an excellent independent wine and spirits merchant (off license if your being posh) that had some. Pretty expensive stuff though.
Still all ingredients sourced all I had to do was sit and wait for Friday to come. Now it’s Friday and I’ve made and drunk said cocktail. However there was further dilemma in the making of. The 2 recipes I looked at said to layer the liqueurs/cream but the official IBA version linked above says to mix.
I went with a simple majority of 2 to 1 I went with layering. Sadly the Cacao & Creme de Menthe didn’t layer and simply slowly mixed together. Still no loss as the cream floated beautifully leaving me with a stunning looking drink! Tasty too =)
