Cat week takes a temporary break due to me needing a drink to put up with continued meowing from a cat that is imprisoned with nothing but a view of the outside world! Actually the update regarding Buffy is so short I’ll stick it in anyway: Still potential for infection and she is to be kept in a further 2 days – poor girl
So yeah – about that drink! Time for some shots since I’ve not done them for a while and I skipped last months drink in favour of a long drink. Today I decided to make the rather tasty and attractive QF which whilst supposedly popular I’ve never seen on offer when I’ve been out at a pub….
The ingredients are superbly simple and all delicious as well:
- 1/3rd measure Midori
- 1/3rd measure Kahlua
- 1/3rd measure Baileys
See? What’s not to like there? There are a few shots that use Midori as the base and mix up the other liqueurs which I shall no doubt be making over the coming weeks!
To prepare this drink requires skill (which I don’t posses) or patience (which I do) 1 out of 2 ain’t all bad right? This drink is layered and probably my biggest weakness in the making of fancy drinks! The liquids go in as listed above and I dribbled them slowly over a bar spoon to create the wonderful layered shot below:
See how awesome that looks? Tastes even better
I managed to convince my dad to drink it in the proper fashion (down in one!) and he even admitted it tasted quite nice which is a proper result coming from a beer drinker (real ale stuff!) I’d say that counts as a successful shot!
