I suppose I’d better make my final post of the year in my usual ultra late fashion so here goes nothing!
As the actual day went nothing special happened – working 8 – 5 has pretty much killed me what with so little sleep the night before. As usual work was stupidly busy and people spending so much money I simply can’t comprehend!?
As for New Year itself? I’ve never really got the hype – it’s just another night like normal since I stay up past midnight on a regular basis anyway. Only real difference is that pubs and clubs are rammed even more full than usual and charge as much as they think they can get away with.
I can deal with big crowds ala Sonisphere quite easily as you can just walk away but a busy pub just makes me super sad since your usually queueing all night for a drink which you pay way over the odds for. Count me out! I’d rather stay at home with my normal cocktails and some random bottles that need drinking in a hurry!
That complacency of NYE aside tonight I had a lovely meal of boiled beef and carrots with my old folks followed by the rock and roll lifestyle of bed for a couple of hours to make sure I can last the night! Yeah, yeah I know – lightweight! Still I’d been working too hard!
After the best nap ever I got ready to go outside and light some fireworks with the neighbours in the middle of the street! A few bangs later and everyone went back inside happy! Me? I got my drink on! 3 jagerbombs, a can of kopparberg and now I’m on the vodka whilst watching the Houston Rockets game on NBA.TV!
As for this blog? I’ll be back in the new year but unlikely keeping up with the One-A-Day pace as I sometimes struggle for content and I doubt this is really all that interesting to read but I suspect that’s the vodka talking! It’s been fun trying to blog once every day and I do hope I’ve entertained at least one person!
