So err…..been a while right?
If your wondering why I haven’t blogged in forever the explanation is simple – I took January off as I found posting once a day quite a challenge to come up with fresh content. Then towards the end of January the events of Christmas came back to haunt me and I gave up on a lot of things one of which was the blog.
Another was making cocktails which I’ve not done in almost 6 months. Incidentally I’ve had a run of absolutely rotten luck with car breakdowns (MOT fail, limp mode on the motorway, DMF) and holidays (both February and May were disasters, Sonisphere was cancelled!) so I’m thinking maybe there is a tenuous link going on here?
The first step to making this horrible streak of bad luck go away is to begin making cocktails once again which is why I’m back writing here!
Today I have mostly been making a Pina Colada or 3 as a nice refreshing drink in the pleasantly warm weather. For today I followed the recipe as listed here which was nice and simple:
- 1 measure white rum
- 1 measure coconut cream
- 3 measures pineapple juice
- crushed ice
Firstly the ice was crushed and added to a blender, next the remaining ingredients were poured on top then the lid was carefully placed on a triple checked for being secured and then the blending began!
Damn that’s one noisy blender!
After a disastrous first attempt (ice not crushed enough) the next 2 came out wonderfully smooth although both had a little ice left in but that soon melted.
A lovely refreshing drink that isn’t too strong and a great drink to start the evening with. No picture though as all 3 photos I took are hideously out of focus!
